1 Tutorial a Day-#5 3D Text
This tutorial caught my eye I like the wood texture it has and just the overall feel. I found this tutorial at www.denisdesigns.com follow the link to find this tutorial. The tutorial didn’t take to long overall but it took me a while because my day had a few things coming in and out, so I had to stop and go a lot.

This is the final image taken from the tutorial, I really like the wood background and the way the letters pop off the background. The tutorial was pretty easy to follow, there were a few things I had to find out for myself though. I had to make new layers myself without being told which is not that hard you just have to pay close attention. One thing that was awesome with this tutorial was when I got to the end they had a PSD file to download so you could see how the original was done. In this case the original version had a few layers that were not covered in the tutorial, so it was good to have access to them.

This is my version of the tutorial I made the 3D text in Illustrator and copied it into Photoshop for the rest of the tutorial. I used my own wood background from a picture of a telephone pole I had on my computer. I am having trouble getting my textures from my external hard drive so I will be doing this one again with some different backgrounds. I know I could just grab something off the internet, but I like using all my own pictures it’s more fun for me. I tried to use some letters and glyphs in a funky way kind of like a face, I didn’t quite get the look I was trying for. I am happy with the outcome, I think I will revisit this one and change the texture background and spend more time with the 3D text design aspect.
