This tutorial was interesting to me I had seen it many times when looking at all the tutorials sites online. I decided it might be fun to give it a chance and see if it was worth while. Here is the one the people at slatchdesign.com ended up with, a pretty nice image really close in on the face. Now it looks easy enough, not too much going on here nothing to fancy. I am not saying it sucks, I’m just saying that it seemed very much in my possibilities to finish in a reasonable amount of time.

I decided to use a picture I took of a very beautiful lady I know. I did not zoom in close on the face like the tutorial example did, instead stayed zoomed out a little. Now when I was going through the steps here it was easy to get and fun to see accomplished. I learned a lot in the proccess of this tutorial and that feels good, when you find techniques that are valuable it feels great. Now when it got to the end adding the shadows to make it look a little more 3D, you follow the procedures and all of the sudden you have this look and you have no idea how you got it. I had to step back and see how I got it, very educating and very cool.
