Here is my beautiful lady who was one of the bridesmaids for this great wedding. I did some post production work on this picture using one of the Photoshop actions I got from Michelle Black, a great photographer with a lot of style. The action is called soft glaze it gives the subject a soft look no bright colors, I also used an action for softening skin and akin tone.

Another picture by this nice fountain inside the atrium of this hotel, I really love the Photoshop actions I got from Michelle Black. This is the action is called High Key B & W I really like what it does, I also softened the skin on this one.

Here is a nice look at the back of a beautiful wedding dress, she looked wonderful in her dress.

Nice ladies in black, it’s always nice to get a picture of people enjoying themselves.

A nice citizen of Philadelphia who decided this day he was going to wear his outfit covered with coins glued all over it. That’s real bling!

To the church for the wedding, St. John the Evangelist church in Philadelphia. The look of this church is grand I love it, look at the 2 towers they look awesome. This church is shoulder to shoulder with all these high rises with no parking, in front of a narrow street, true city style. A lot different from the churches you would see in Arlington, VA which would be surrounded by grass and have enough parking for service.

This alter is very detailed I want to say it’s Gothic style, but the outside of the church I’m pretty sure is not.

Another great alley, this one is right next to the church laced with dumpsters and filled with puddles. can’t you just see our hero chasing the bad guy threw this perfect alley, splashing threw these large puddles? I can.

Philly is just full of interesting buildings, this is just one that caught my eye.

I found some great signage simple neon lights attached to the side of this building, the thing about this sign is it looks like it’s just floating there. I don’t know how eye catching it is for other people walking the streets? Considering that it is very small and simple a lot of people might pass it by without even noticing it. I think it’s very modern and it definetly caught my eye.

Philly is full of great art work here is an example of a mural on the wall of a parking lot just blocks from the church. Some crazy weird Aztec looking art work with very detailed little images within the large images.

A little more signage, simple but effective.

A little closer look at the awesome ornaments in the buildings of Philadelphia, I like the details.

Here is another great example of the architecture that fills the Center City Philadelphia, great arches.

Another great Philadelphia alley, the kind you don’t want to go down.

A look at the grand City Hall look at all the columns filling the front of the building, the clock and the statue on the top everything here is completely old school.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange the same spot where Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy take the Duke brothers for all their money in the classic movie “Trading Places”. I love that movie.

The building right next to the Stock Exchange these little details all along the side of the building, from a distance it looks like just your typical awesome Philadelphia brick work. But when you look a little closer they are zodiac signs, what an original idea! Below is a closer look.

This one is the Sagittarius sign, I think that is really cool only the people who really look at this will notice.

Something else that caught my eye was that everything in this town gets tagged.

Almost everything is tagged.

The doorway and the lady both beautiful sights.

More of a look at the entire doorway, I  see 2 lions and a rams head.

Another church that looks like it’s straight out of the mid-evil period or something, you really don’t see a lot of churches like this in Arlington if any.

The buildings here just seem to reach the very clouds themselves.

Here I was just having a little fun with depth of field, setting my aperture to 5.6 to get me the this fence in focus and everything else out of focus.

This was some fun design outside of a museum I believe, it’s bright different and you can see it from a distance. I think it does it’s job of attracting people to check out what is inside.

I recently went on a trip to Philadephlia for a wedding, the trip started at the 100 year old Latham Hotel. The trip was great, the architecture in Philadelphia was awesome I had a blast taking pictures the whole weekend.

Something I have always been interested in taking pictures  of  has been alleys, true city alleys. I just love the feel of them nice and gritty full of graffitti just like in the  movies.

Another look at the hotel we stayed in the look is just oldschool I really like it.

To my surprise just down the street there was an art show in the park at Rittenhouse Square. All fine art and it was going on the whole weekend. I was lucky while my girlfriend had bridesmaid duties I had a chance to walk around and look at some great art work.

I also had some time to talk to some of the artists, most of which made all their money from these type of shows I  had no idea that artists could make a living this way!

Here is one of the artists that makes a living from these shows Ken Orton you can check out his portfolio here. I had the pleasure of talking with Ken for a while and in addition to these awesome glass bottle paintings which look so realistic he has done a lot of paintings of classic cars. He had one of these cars on display but the rest were bottles, these bottles were great I was really fooled into thinking they were real photographs.

In the middle of the park is where the student exhibitors were and so I got a chance to talk with them too. Thomas Panico was one of them his main focus is in illustration he attends the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. He works in mixed media, using watercolor, pen & ink, pencil, photography, and digital media, amongst others. You can take a look at his portfolio here.

Here is an up close look at some of his work, nice and bloody.

Here are Kieth Grace and his wife at Kieth’s booth where he displayed these cool paintings done with pieces of newspaper mixed in. The end effect has killer I really enjoyed this booth I just really liked the colors and the overall look and feel. He also had some skateboards with his unique style of painting all over them, which really caught my eye being that I used to skateboard and have never really stopped loving the sport or the culture.

Some of the artists felt the urge to do what they do best and paint while everyone walked past and looked at their work. Jim Lynn felt so inclined here and what gets me is that he is painting something that is obviosly not there, he is painting from his imagination!

Another artist that struck my interest was Jeffrey Cannon the colors he used in his paintings were amazing. Some of these places were scenes which he had seen and been to, but I believe he said most of these paintings were created from his mind.

The fact that he like a lot of the other artists makes all of his money from these shows, has got me thinking about if there are shows like this for graphic design. I think that will be the next thing I research, I am really interested in finding out about that.

A look from across the  street, the whole park looked like this a huge square in the middle of fancy hotels and grand condos.

Now this artist had work different from all the other artists I saw, he had some really cool scenes along with some cool paintings of Jerry Garcia and President Obama.
